SWEET MATCHA ENERGY GUMMIES
Who doesn’t need an energy boost nowadays? Matcha contains caffeine, which is a natural stimulant that can increase alertness and improve mental focus. However, unlike coffee, matcha also contains L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes relaxation and helps to counteract the jittery effects of caffeine. This combination of caffeine and L-theanine can provide a more sustained and balanced energy boost, without the crash that can come with other sources of caffeine.
We created a recipe for vegan matcha energy gummies.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp agar agar powder
- 2 tbsp sweet matcha powder
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan, mix together the water and agar agar powder. Let it sit for 5 minutes to allow the agar agar to soften.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the sweet matcha powder, maple syrup, and sea salt to the saucepan. Whisk the mixture until the matcha powder has dissolved and everything is well combined.
- Pour the mixture into silicone gummy molds and let them cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, place the molds in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to set.
- Once set, remove the gummies from the molds and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
